Apple Tablet Concept Video – 1987

Does this 1987 Apple concept video, Knowledge Navigator, give clues to what Apple will be announcing later this month? I believe we will get a voice interactive device in my lifetime, but not sure we will see it this year.

What do you think? Let me know you thoughts. Check back this weekend to . . . → Read More: Apple Tablet Concept Video – 1987

Police Search for Paul Merhige

As those of you who follow me on twitter know, on Wednesday night I had trouble checking into my hotel, the Miami Doubletree. Evidently Paul Merhige had been sighted in the hotel and a massive manhunt was underway to find him. After an hour I checked into a different hotel after capturing the following . . . → Read More: Police Search for Paul Merhige

Arctic Wolf

Arctic Wolf, originally uploaded by Marke Clinger.

To the best of my knowledge this is an arctic wolf. I was driving just outside of the city of Yellowknife, NT in Canada when it crossed the road in front of me. It stopped and posed on a berm on the side of the road. . . . → Read More: Arctic Wolf

X-RAID: The Borg of Network Attached Storage

by Marke Clinger

This weekend I did the unimaginable.

I purposefully pulled out, one by one, every drive in my ReadyNAS NV RAID while it was running. I am pretty familiar with RAID technology because of the work I did in the late ’80s with several pioneering companies working on early RAID and . . . → Read More: X-RAID: The Borg of Network Attached Storage

Now That’s Service! – Yousendit Callback in 9 minutes

At 5:35pm tonight my phone rang with the area code of 408, Silicon Valley. Hum could it be mom? I don’t have any customers in that area code. I was still in my office in Santa Cruz, CA trying to figure out if I could track who downloaded a file using Yousendit’s Outlook plug-in. . . . → Read More: Now That’s Service! – Yousendit Callback in 9 minutes
